Bijepur: Farmers of Bijepur of Bargarh district are provided with developed paddy seeds by the Sabujima Farmers’ Producer Company managed by NABARD in collaboration with Harvest Plus and Mahashakti Foundation. Under the active guidance of the CEO of the production company, Rashmi Ranjita Singh, the agricultural officer of Bijepur, Soumyaranja Behera, technical officer Utchab Sahu, and horticulture extension officer Deepika Padhan were present at this program and informed twenty farmers from four villages: Talpadar, Kanpuri, Bandupali, and Barguda. They were also supplied with the paddy seeds free of cost. The main intention of the program was to eradicate malnutrition and blood deficiency and to create a physically strong society because the bio-fortified paddy contains sufficient iron and zinc. All the farmers are shareholder members of Sabujima farmer’s producer company. It is aimed at cultivating the paddy and making paddy storage in the future so that it can be reached to every door as food. Lastly, Bhaskar Rana, an employee of the Sabujima farmer’s producer company, offered a vote of thanks, and the program ended.
