26 former teachers and 43 former students were felicitated
Kalahandi (Lingaraj Mishra): The Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Ghantamal UP School under Narla Block of Kalahandi District were celebrated in a colourful atmosphere on Wednesday. Under the leadership of the President of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Ghantamal Sarpanch Debendra Sa, the Headmaster of the school, Tribikram Sadhangi, all the teachers, students, the President of the Management Committee, the Secretary, members and guardians brought the torch from the local Shiva temple Shri Siddheshwar Baba and circumambulated the village of Ghantamal and installed it on the stage.
The stage program was held under the chairmanship of the Headmaster of the school, Tribikram Sadhangi. Narla Block Development Officer Bipin Bihari Deep, BEO Tapimani Jani, ABEO Govardhan Majhi, Journalist Lingaraj Mishra were the chief guests, while Bhawanipatna Ma Manikeswari University’s guest lecturer and playwright Dr. Umesh Chandra Satapathy was the chief speaker and provided guidance. Eminent vocalist Jagannath Tripathi and students performed welcome songs. After the president’s welcome speech, Headmaster Shri Sadhangi read out the report. On this occasion, 26 former teachers and students who had taught in the school, including the first Headmaster of the school, Basant Mohapatra, second Headmaster Srinivas Panda, and 43 old students who had achieved distinction in the school and society, were felicitated on the stage. The guests presented prizes to the students who achieved success in the annual sports. After the lunch break,
the second session was held. Narla Block Chairman Durga Prasad Mohanty participated as the chief guest and gave guidance. The President of the Golden Jayanti Celebration, Ghantamal Sarpanch Shri Sa, conducted the program. The President of the School Management Committee Kunti Majhi, the Past President Jagulal Sa, all the members, teachers Ambika Panda, Rekha Khaitan, Gundicha Rani Badatya, Jayashree Gochayat, Pachika Marua, Mukta, Kumudini contributed to the management of the main program. The Headmaster Shri Sadhangi managed the stage while the Teacher Kshetish Chandra Majhi contributed to the management. In the afternoon, the students performed a cultural program. At the end of the program, the President of the Golden Jayanti Celebration, Shri Sa, proposed the vote of thanks.
