Chhath Puja 2023: Chhath, the festival of faith, is celebrated every year on the Shashti Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik. This time the fast of Chhath started from 18th November (Saturday). Chhath Mahaparva starts with Chaturthi Tithi Nahay-Khay. Parana is performed after offering water to the rising sun on Saptami Tithi. This fast is observed to pray for the long life of children, good harvest and happiness and prosperity. The devotees keep a waterless fast for 36 hours. Standing in water in the morning and evening, one offers Arghya to Lord Bhaskar.
