Indian Researcher Secures Top Award at International Conference in Bangkok

Kalahandi, YNN: Dr Priyanka Mohanty, a dedicated second-year postgraduate student, has earned prestigious recognition by winning the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 8th International Conference on Work Environment and Cardiovascular Diseases, held from 20-22 August at the esteemed Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Bangkok.

Dr Mohanty’s acclaimed research, entitled “Health-Seeking Behaviour and Out-of-Pocket Expenditure of Tribal Adult Population: A Cross-Sectional Study in a Selected District of Odisha,” demonstrated her profound commitment to tackling public health challenges faced by marginalised communities. Her presentation was praised for its scholarly rigour and impactful findings, securing her this notable international accolade.

The daughter of Dr Pallishree Patnaik, Head of the Odia Department at Maa Manikeswari University, Bhawanipatna and Dr Hrushikesh Mohanty, Additional Director at KIIT Skill, Bhubaneswar, Dr Priyanka’s achievement has been hailed as a triumph for Kalahandi. This milestone not only underscores her academic excellence but also brings great pride to her institution and hometown, serving as an inspiration to her peers.
