Kalahandi, YNN (Lingaraj Mishra) – Devgiri Sanskrutik Anusthan, a leading cultural organisation in Odisha, has announced the 3rd phase recipients of this year’s prestigious awards. The honours will be conferred during the 32nd Annual Function and state-level Kumarswami Mahotsav from 13th to 15th November at Budhipadar in Narla Block, Kalahandi District.
Internationally renowned karate player Tapan Goud will be honoured with this year’s Devgiri Pratibha Samman. Mr Goud, from Budhipadar village, has brought glory to Odisha by becoming the champion in ‘Martial Arts Got Talent World Champion’ in 2022 and runner-up in the IMAS Asian Karate Championship in 2023. He is also famous as a karate coach in Gujarat.
Retired soldier Dusmanta Shekhar Mahala will receive the Devgiri Desh Seva Samman. Dusmanta, resident of Kandel village, Kesinga Block, joined the Border Security Force in 2004 and served in West Bengal, Manipur, Assam, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, among other places. He retired in 2024 after serving the country as an efficient soldier.
Harekrushna Sahu will receive the Devgiri Seva Samman. Born in Sargiguda, Titilagarh, Balangir district, Mr Sahu worked in the health department by profession, but his inclination was to serve the common man. He has devoted himself to the service of the people since his childhood. He always extends a hand of help to the poor, the neglected, and those deprived of common facilities. During the Corona epidemic, he set an example by serving the masses. Currently, he is working as a multi-purpose health worker at Naren Community Health Centre.
Tejan Kumar Durga of Dharmagarh will receive the Devgiri Krida Samman for the year 2024. Mr Durga has been a Penalty Umpire with OCA since 2020 and has officiated more than 50 state and 5 national matches. He has been honoured by many institutions.
President of the organisation Sanjay Dhangadamajhi and General Secretary Sunil Dhangadamajhi informed that these talents will be honoured at the 32nd annual function of Devgiri Sanskrutik Anusthan and Kumarswami Mahotsav, which will be held from 13th to 15th November at Budhipadar in Narla Block, Kalahandi District.
