Kalahandi, YNN (Lingaraj Mishra): The premises of the Narla Block Education Office were abuzz with excitement as it hosted the Narla Block Level Children’s Festival Surabhi and Kala Utsav-2024. The event, held under the auspices of the Kalahandi District, was a vibrant celebration of student talent and creativity.
The programme was presided over by Senior Block Education Officer Tapimani Jani and Zilla Parishad Member Harishankar Majhi was the chief guest.
Distinguished guests of honour included ABEO Gobardhan Majhi, ABEO Suryadev Bag, and Retired ABEO Drona Rana, who graced the occasion with their presence.
Students from 17 clusters within the block showcased their skills in various competitions under ‘Surabhi,’ including song, essay writing, elocution, debate, PM Poshan Art and Craft, group cultural programme, quiz, dictation and handwriting, drawing, etc. Certificates and prizes were awarded to those who excelled in these categories.
Similarly, the ‘Kala Utsav’ segment featured competitions in solo and group vocal music, instrumental music, dance, theatre, visual art, and traditional storytelling. Successful participants received certificates, and the top performers will advance to the district-level competition in the coming days.
The event was skilfully moderated by teacher Anil Prasad Sahu, with the support of all CRCCs and teachers who played a crucial role in organising the programme.
