“Surabhi: A Premier Platform for Nurturing Talent”
Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): The Kalahandi District Level Surabhi and Kala Utsav-2024 was successfully held at the BM High School campus in Bhawanipatna, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of students from across the district. The event, which serves as a significant platform for nurturing and showcasing student talent, saw participation from over 700 students representing 13 blocks of the district.
The inaugural session was presided over by District Education Officer Sushant Kumar Chopdar, with Kalahandi Zilla Parishad Chairman Pushpendra Singhdeo gracing the occasion as the chief guest. Additional District Magistrate Tanmay Kumar Darwan, Kalahandi MP Representative Anil Kumar Nanda, Additional District Education Officer Pabitra Mohan Sahu, Bhawanipatna Block Education Officer Achari Sabar, Narla Senior Block Education Officer Tapimani Jani, BM High School Headmaster Shasthi Jhankar, Pedagogy Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Shraddhanjali Dash, and District Science Supervisor Dushmanta Sekhar Padhi were among the distinguished guests.
In his address, Mr Singhdeo emphasised the importance of such platforms in grooming the inherent talents of students, urging all educational institutions to actively support and encourage student participation in programmes like Surabhi. He highlighted that the collective effort of teachers and all associated with educational institutions is crucial for the holistic development of students.
The valedictory ceremony was equally grand, with several dignitaries including District Education Officer Sushant Kumar Chopdar, Additional District Education Officer Pabitra Mohan Sahu, Pedagogy Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Shraddhanjali Dash, and various Block Education Officers from Kesinga, Junagarh, Kalampur, and Dharmagarh, among others, present to award the students. The event was moderated by CRCC Dileswar Rana, with cultural programmes coordinated by CRCC Tapan Dash and Teacher Sudhir Kumar Dhangadamajhi. The prize distribution was conducted by Teacher Sanjeev Padhi.
The festival featured a variety of competitions, and the best performers will represent the district at the state-level festival scheduled from 12th to 14th November. The event was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the organising committee, DPC, and DEO office staff, ensuring its grand success.
