Pradip Kumar Das Resigns from BJD, Citing Lack of Recognition and Injustice

Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): In a significant political development, Pradip Kumar Das (Bapi), a long-standing member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) from Kalahandi, has tendered his resignation from the party. Das, who began his political career as an independent Councillor in Bhawanipatna Municipality in 2008, joined the BJD with a commitment to uphold the clean image of the then Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik.

In his resignation letter addressed to the BJD President, Das expressed his deep disappointment at the lack of recognition and organisational roles despite his 15 years of dedicated service. He highlighted his and his family’s significant contributions to the party, including organising numerous blood donation camps and participating in various elections across the district.

Das stated that despite his extensive experience, he was not given priority or significant organisational portfolios, unlike a select group of workers who held multiple positions. This lack of appreciation from both state and district leaders has hurt his followers and supporters.

“With sorrowful feelings and full of emotion, though much harder and too difficult for me, I would like to resign from the party BJD without blaming anyone,” Das wrote. He emphasised that his decision was made with a heavy heart, acknowledging the love and support he received from BJD workers throughout the district.

Das’s resignation marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Kalahandi, as he was known for his selfless dedication to the party and the broader interests of the district.
