Cash looted from SBI ATM Nuapada 

Nuapada (Surendra Kumar Swain): Once again the miscreants have found Automated Teller Machine (ATM) kiosk an easy target in Odisha. This time, the robbers have decamped with over Rs. 14 lakh from the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM at Khariar in Nuapada district. The matter came to light on Monday.

As per sources, miscreants broke open the ATM using gas cutters and fled with around Rs 14.80 lakh cash. Bank officials informed that the last transaction was made in the ATM at around 8:30 pm on Sunday. It is suspected that the miscreants targeted the ATM late at night.

“As per the information, there was around 14.80 lakh cash in the ATM and the last transaction was around 8:30 pm. We suspect that gas cutter was used in stealing cash from the ATM,” said chief bank manager Debi Prasad Mishra adding that a complaint in this connection has been lodged.

Police have started an investigation into the matter after a complaint in connection with the incident was lodged by the Chief Manager of Khariar SBI branch.
