Death toll in Bihar’s Chapra due to consumption of spurious liquor rises to 30



Bihar: The death toll due to the consumption of hooch has gone up to 30 in the Saran district of Bihar’s Chhapra. Bihar continues to witness deaths owing to the consumption of spurious liquor and the toll is expected to rise further.

According to police, family members of those killed have claimed that their relatives died due to the consumption of poisonous liquor in the Doila and Yadu Mot villages of the Saran district.

Speaking to the media, the Madhaura SP S.Kumar said police are looking for the villagers who have fallen sick after the consumption of liquor.

With people dying due to the consumption of spurious liquor, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his cool inside the Assembly. “Kya ho Gaya, jehrili sharab, halla kar rahe ho tum log,” said Nitish Kumar inside the assembly when BJP MLAs tried to target him over the Chhapra hooch tragedy.
