Kalahandi (Jagdish Naik): The ‘International Martial Arts Hall of Fame’ competition has been organized at Global Indian International School, Ahmedabad. In this, Tapan Goud of Odisha has become the ‘Martial Arts Got Talent World Champion’. Competitors from various countries including India participated in the said competition organized by WWKFI Yushu Kung Fu affiliated to the Martial Arts Authority of India. In this, Tapan Gaud has brought laurels to Odisha and the country by becoming the Champion by performing exceptionally well in the ancient martial art of Volino.
The life of 24-year-old Tapan Gaud, son of Sanju Gaud and late Bhuri Gaud, of Budhipdar village in Narla block of Kalahandi district, has gone through many struggles. After passing +2 at Lanjigarh Road Junior College, he moved to Rajkot, Gujarat to earn a living.
In 2018, Tapan worked with Seth Haresh Bhai M. Dhokia, a resident of Shyamnagar, Rajkot. Haresh Bhai, a godlike man, knew about the hidden talent in young Tapan and helped him in every way. Recently, Tapan stood second in the 2nd All India Versatile Cup Karate Championship and is now the ‘Martial Arts Got Talent World Champion’. He gives the credit of all this to his parents, Karuan family deities, Budhipdar village and Seth Haresh Bhai M. Dhokia. Tapan said, he would never have reached such a high position without the help of Mr. Dhokia. He is currently training students as a Karate coach in several educational institutions including Innovative International College, Rajkot, MSB School, Rajkot. Tapan, an ambitious and hardworking young man from the rural area of Narla block of Kalahandi district, has carved a niche for himself in Gujarat. Studied from All Gujarat Martial Arts Academy, Tapan Goud has been honored by many institutions. However, under the tutelage of coaches Haresh Trivedi and Jiten Maro, he has brought laurels to entire Odisha and Kalahandi by becoming the ‘Martial Arts Got Talent World Champion’.
His success has spread a wave of happiness in Kalahandi district including his village Budhipdar.
