New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its list candidates for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly election 2022. As many as 62 candidates will contest the polls on party ticket.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur who is filing his nomination papers on Wednesday, will contest Seraj Assembly constituency.
Senior leaders Anil Sharma and Satpal Singh Satti have been fielded from Mandi and Una segments respectively.
The selection of candidates was finalized at a meeting of its Central Election Committee on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party’s national organisation general secretary BL Santosh, Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Sarbananda Sonowal, former Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The Election Commission has started the nomination process for Himachal Pradesh elections and the last date for filing nominations is October 25.
The voting for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2022 will be held on November 12 and HP election results will be declared on December 8.
The hill state has 68 seats in the Assembly.
