Kalahandi Lekhika Sangha hosts Shravani Poetry Festival

Bhawanipatna, YNN: The Shravani Poetry Festival drenched every woman poet in the torrential downpour of Shravan. Matching step with the pitter-patter of the rain, more than 30 poets recited their captivating, self-composed Shravani verses on the premises of the Brajabihar Shishumandir, Bhawanipatna.

The programme was inaugurated by the guest of honour, retired teacher Harapriya Thakur. President Sudeshna Panda presided over the event, which was conducted by secretary Kalpana Rath. The Brahmanada chant was rendered by poet Anita Mund, the lamp-lighting mantra was sung by poet Sunita Dash, the Saraswati Vandana was offered by poet Bilasini Mahapatra, and the opening song was performed by poet Sandhyarani Behera.

Two new members were welcomed at the beginning of the programme. Coordinated by Dipti Mund, over 30 poets recited their work, including Balbir Kaur, Minati Pradhan, Archana Mishra, Tanushree Mishra, Premashila Behera, Manjurani Rath, Snehalata Sadangi, Rashmirani Rath, Kabita Mund, Ambujakshi Behera, Swarnakanti Baikar, Anandini Patra, Priyadarshika Pradhan, Suchismita Rath, Susmita Mahapatra, Swapna Pradhan, Archana Behera, and Sushri Sangeeta Behera.

At the end, treasurer Sabita Satpathy delivered the vote of thanks, and poet Sabita Dash recited the Shanti Mantra.
