Hemasagar Mahananda’s Poetry Collection ‘Lessons for Life’ Launched

Bhawanipatna, YNN (Altaf Ali Khan): A collection of English poems titled ‘Lessons for Life: Poems for Every Stage of Learning’ by Hemasagar Mahananda, Additional District Education Officer of Kalahandi and an acclaimed young poet, was formally launched at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Bhawanipatna.

The book release took place during the opening ceremony of the 69th State-Level Under-17 Girls’ Football Tournament. The event was presided over by DM Kalahandi Sachin Pawar and attended by a host of dignitaries, including Zilla Parishad Chairman Puspendra Singhdeo, noted orator Dr Shiba Prasad Behera, District Education Officer Radhakanta Chhatri, Joint Director of Berhampur Regional Directorate of Education Pabitra Mohan Sahu, District Sports Officer Ramesh Chandra Padhi, representative of the School and Mass Education Minister Jugal Podh, representative of Kalahandi MP Jayshankar Naik and District Physical Education Officer Rupsingh Rout.

Published by the international publishing house Urania Publishing House, the collection features poems centred on core human values such as honour, integrity, perseverance, environmental conservation, and self-confidence. Each poem carries a strong moral message, encouraging readers, particularly children and young adults, to become compassionate, courageous, reflective, and agents of positive change.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mahananda, who has served in the field of education with dedication for over two decades and has been honoured with several state and national awards, said the primary aim of the book is to sow the seeds of good character and ethical awareness in the minds of the younger generation.

The programme was gracefully anchored by state official Niranjan Satapathy and young writer Dileswar Rana, while the poet himself remained seated on the dais.
