Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): A distinguished lecture and book launch event was organised by the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Translation at Maa Manikeswari University. Held at the Yuva Sanskar Hall, the programme featured the launch of the book ‘Samakalina Sahitya Charcha’, edited by Dr Pallishree Pattanayak, Head of the Odia Department, and Dr Pratyasha Dhal, a lecturer in the department.
Additionally, a lecture on ‘The Relevance of Contemporary Literature’ was delivered by eminent essayist Dr Benudhar Padhi. The event, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Maa Manikeswari University, Dr Nibedita Nath, was graced by notable figures including Dr Benudhar Padhi as the chief speaker, Registrar Pitambar Bhoi, Dr Pallishree Pattnayak, and Dr Pratyasha Dhal, who were present on the dais.
Assistant Professor Dolamani Dharua delivered the welcome address, while lecturer Balmiki Karuan conducted the proceedings. Nikita Sahu, a second-year graduation student, performed a welcome song. The vote of thanks was proposed by young storyteller Dileswar Rana.
