Bhawanipatna, YNN: The Kalahandi district-level Children’s Festival Suravi-2025 took place at Brajamohan High School in Bhawanipatna. District Education Officer Radhakanta Chhatri chaired the opening session, joined by chief guest Dayamaya Padhi (CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad), special guest Sushant Kumar Chopdar (former DEO), and honoured guests including Antaryami Kanhar, Pavitra Mohan Sahu, Hemsagar Mahanand, Iswar Chandra Behera, Tapimani Jani, Shashti Jhankar, and Shraddhanjali Dash.

Host school students Juli Sahu and Nitu Behera gave the welcome speech, Shriyashree Pattnayak performed a welcome dance, and Talbelgaon High School students sang a welcome song under teacher Nilanchal Pan’s guidance.

Competitions in solo singing, essay writing, elocution, debate, PM Poshan art and craft, cultural events, quiz, Odia dictation and handwriting, and drawing saw participation from first-place winners of the district’s 13 blocks.

Chhatri also presided over the closing ceremony, with chief guest Additional District Magistrate Tanmay Darwan, special guest IAS probationer Animesh Pradhan, and honoured guests Vivekananda Mahanand, Pavitra Mohan Sahu, Hemsagar Mahanand, Tapimani Jani, Rupsingh Rout, Shraddhanjali Dash, and all Block Education Officers on the dais. CRCC Dileswar Rana anchored the event, and Hemsagar Mahanand proposed the vote of thanks.

Guests awarded prizes to winners, and the DEO announced that all first-place students will represent Kalahandi at the state-level ‘Suravi’ festival. The organising committee, DPC, and DEO office staff provided full support.
