Kalahandi: Odisha commemorated the 27th anniversary of the passing of Biju Patnaik, affectionately known as the ‘eagle of the storm’ and revered former Chief Minister. A significant assembly of workers convened in Kutrukhmar within the Lanjigarh assembly constituency of Kalahandi district to honor the legacy of this esteemed figure. Dignitaries including Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar, BJD’s Kalahandi Lok Sabha nominee Lambodar Nial, Lanjigarh’s MLA candidate Pradeep Kumar Dishari, and Bhawanipatna’s MLA candidate Lalita Naik, alongside notable leaders, paid homage to Biju Babu. The gathering reminisced about Biju Patnaik’s enduring tales and imparted wisdom to the workers, encouraging them to extend support to his son, Naveen Patnaik. The consensus at the meeting was to expedite the state’s developmental journey by endorsing the seven assembly and MP candidates of the Kalahandi constituency, symbolised by the double conch. In a collective pledge, all attendees vowed to embody Biju Babu’s ethos of service, sacrifice, and altruism. The leaders urged the continuation and amplification of this service-oriented spirit in memory of the great leader’s sacrifice day.
