Kalahandi (Bardhaman Jain): Chasmeet Kour Virdi, a delegate from India, actively participated in the World Youth Festival held in the Sirius Federal Territory, Sochi, Russia, from February 28 to March 8. The festival, renowned for fostering youth empowerment and collaboration, provided a platform for young minds to engage in nation-building endeavors.
The selection process for the event was rigorous and comprehensive, requiring candidates to demonstrate their commitment to various themes such as saving families for the sake of children and peace, multi-ethnic unity, life dignity and justice, mutual aid and mercy, and creating a world of opportunities for all. Applicants were tasked with writing essays on these topics, showcasing their understanding and passion for societal change.
In addition to the essay component, candidates were also evaluated based on personal achievements and were required to submit an introduction video. In the video, applicants were asked to share insights into the Indo-Russian relationship and discuss the book that inspired them the most, providing a glimpse into their personality and values.
Throughout the event, Virdi exemplified the spirit of youthful innovation and enterprise, embodying the festival’s core values. She not only represented the rich cultural heritage of India but also actively engaged in various sessions led by eminent personalities.
