Kalahandi, YNN (Lingaraj Mishra): The State Bank of India (SBI) Regional Headquarters organised a tree plantation drive at three locations in Narla block of Kalahandi district, Pacific Public School, PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and the Fire Department campus, planting a total of 1,200 saplings.

The drive, spearheaded by Lambodar Singh, Branch Manager of SBI Narla branch, was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including eminent environmentalist and Mahashakti Foundation board member Birendra Pradhan, Prakash Sahu, youth leader Deepu Patra, Prashant Nayak (Director of Pacific Public School), volunteer Lulu Pattnaik, and Fire Department Officers, who motivated the participants with their encouraging addresses. The event also witnessed the participation of headmasters, assistant teachers and staff from the concerned schools, alongside employees of SBI Narla branch.

Students and volunteers also actively cooperated in making the initiative a success. Fruit-bearing, medicinal and shade-providing saplings were planted on the school premises and along the roadside. The initiative received widespread appreciation from school authorities, students, parents and local residents.

The programme was managed by the Mahashakti Foundation on behalf of SBI. Those present on the occasion also urged that such environment-centric drives be continued with renewed vigour in the days ahead.
