Bhawanipatna: The Pragati Higher Secondary School premises in Bhawanipatna town hosted the welcome ceremony ‘Agaman-2026’ for newly-admitted students with great enthusiasm and joy. The event, organised by the second-year students for the first-year batch, was presided over by the institution’s principal Seshadev Mund. The chief guests on the occasion were Er. Ajay Kumar Panda, Secretary of Pragati Institutions, and Sushree Sangeeta Panda, Chairperson.
The gathering was also graced by the presence of administrative officer Pranab Kumar Panda, Chinmaya Guru (Principal of Concept School), Digeswar Bemal (Principal of Pragati College), chief academic coordinator Anjan Kumar Rana, as well as senior teachers Binod Bihari Pradhan, Bidyasagar Mund, and Sashibhushan Das, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff and students.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guests. This was followed by a welcome song performed by the second-year students. Thereafter, the freshers were formally welcomed with floral bouquets and gifts. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Er. Ajay Kumar Panda and president Seshadev Mund delivered inspiring speeches, urging the students to focus on education, discipline, and work towards a bright and promising future.
The cultural segment that followed featured captivating performances, including dance, music, and a ramp show put up by the students. On this occasion, the titles of ‘Mr Fresher’ and ‘Miss Fresher’ were conferred upon the winners. Additionally, a ramp walk by the teaching faculty drew considerable applause and captured the attention of everyone present. The stage was skillfully managed by teacher Bidyasagar Mund and the second-year students. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by two second-year girl students.
