Lanjigarh Block hosts Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani 2025

Kalahandi, YNN (Nilesh Kumar Nag): The block-level Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani 2025 was successfully organised at Gopabandhu Govt High School, Biswanathpur, under the aegis of the Lanjigarh Block Education Office.

The exhibition showcased 232 innovative scientific projects and witnessed the participation of approximately 300 students, 100 teachers, headmasters from all schools within the block, and 13 CRCCs.

The event commenced with the registration of participants and a formal welcome by the organising committee. The inaugural ceremony included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a welcome dance performed by students of Shree Jagannath High School, Jodabandh and a welcome song.

Block Education Officer Rusia Meher presided over the event and extended a welcome to the guests. Trainee IAS officer Animesh Pradhan served as chief guest, while Shashanka Patra, Block Development Officer, Lanjigarh, was the special guest. Other dignitaries present included Additional Block Education Officer and Block Resource Centre Coordinator Sudhaldev Mund, and Sujata Malik, Headmistress of the host institution.

In his address, the chief guest commended the contributions of the students and teachers, emphasising the need to nurture a scientific temperament, curiosity, and innovative thinking. The Block Education Officer echoed these sentiments, stating that such exhibitions play a vital role in enhancing the creativity and critical thinking abilities of the younger generation.

Following the inaugural session, a panel of judges evaluated the projects on display. The judging panel comprised headmasters from various schools, including Kuber Naik of Budelguma High School, Upendra Kumar Sunani of Tulapada High School, Birendra Kumar Pradhan of Nishanpur High School, Rajiv Kumar Das of Bhimkela High School, Dibakar Sahu of Tujung High School, and Ashok Kumar Biswal of Alatara Higher Secondary School.

The exhibited models addressed key themes including technology, renewable energy, agriculture, environmental protection, and solutions to community problems.

The valedictory session was attended by Kamala Patra, Chairperson of Lanjigarh Panchayat Samiti, as chief guest, along with several other education officials. The dignitaries provided guidance to the participants and highlighted the importance of scientific inquiry.

The highlight of the concluding session was the recognition of outstanding contributions, with prizes and certificates awarded to 17 students and schools that presented the most meritorious models.

The event was coordinated by Block Science Secretary Himanshu Shekhar Mahapatra, members of the management committee, CRCCs, headmasters, teachers, and staff of the Block Education Office. Senior teacher Tapan Kumar Bhoi conducted the proceedings.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a blood donation camp organised by the Lanjigarh Press Club was held, in which several teachers, including Himanshu Shekhar Meher, Durbadal Patel, Suresh Kumar Maharana, and Sushant Kumar Barik, participated by donating blood.
