Kalahandi: The Kalahandi Forest Division observed Van Sahid Divas today with solemn respect to honor the supreme sacrifice of Sri Prasanta Palo, Range Officer, Narla Range, who laid down his life in the line of duty on 10th December 2023.
A floral tribute ceremony was organized at the Range Office, Narla, where officers, frontline staff gathered to pay homage. A two-minute silence was observed in his memory, recalling his bravery and unwavering dedication towards forest and wildlife protection.
Speaking on the occasion, the DFO, kalahandi North Division and officials highlighted the courage and commitment of Sri Palo, whose sacrifice continues to inspire the forest force. They reaffirmed the Department’s pledge to safeguard the forests and wildlife of Odisha with the same dedication and spirit.
The observance of Van Sahid Divas serves as a solemn reminder of the challenges and risks faced by frontline green warriors, while also reflecting the enduring legacy they leave behind in the cause of conservation.
