Bhawanipatna, YNN: Kalahandi district celebrated Teachers’ Day with a grand district-level event and the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar ceremony, held by the District Education Officer’s Office at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall in Bhawanipatna. The programme started with dignitaries offering floral tributes to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and lighting the ceremonial lamp. ADM Tanmay Darwan presided over the event, with Zilla Parishad Chairman Puspendra Singdeo as the Chief Guest and Zilla Parishad CDO-cum-EO Dayamaya Padhi as the Guest of Honour. Other notable guests included DEO Radhakanta Chhatri, ADEOs Pabitra Mohan Sahu, Shubhalaxmi Nayak, and Hemsagar Mahanand, DIET Principal Dr Deshabandhu Sahu, and educationist Jagabandhu Mishra. They addressed the gathering, emphasising the crucial role teachers play in nation-building.
During the event, selected teachers from primary and secondary schools across the district, along with CRCCs, were honoured with the prestigious District-level Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar for their exceptional contributions to education.

From Bhawanipatna block, Nilanchal Pan of Talbelgaon HS and Bhishnupriya Chanda of Purunapada UPS received the award. From Dharmagarh block, Sibasankar Mishra and Rajendra Acharya of Brahman Chhendia HS, Pallabee Panda of Kanagaon UGHS, and Batakrishna Behera of Bagad UPS were felicitated. Geetanjali Sahu of Bhatipada PUPS from Golamunda block and Hemanta Majhi of Hirapur UGHS from Jaipatna block were also recognised. From Junagarh block, Malaya Mund of Junagarh HS and Sonali Majhi of Brahmaniguda HS were honoured. Birendra Chuhan of Mandal HS and Debendra Naik of Khamanpada PS from Kalampur block, and Pratap Pradhan of Surujuli UPS from Karlamunda block were awarded as well.
From Kesinga block, Jugal Chhatria, Rasmita Panigrahi, Rasmismita Behera, and Nabin Naik of Kesinga HS, Pralay Mahapatra of Sirol HS, Kanchanlata Sarangi of Nunmath HS, and Pujarani Balsamanta of Ward No. 9 PS were felicitated. From Koksara block, Amit Mohanty of Jawahar HS, Koksara, and Padmalochan Sahoo of Dengaguda PS were recognised. Aditya Kumar Panda of Kanarla PS from Lanjigarh block and Sanjaya Sethy, Prakash Sethy of Nunpur HS, and Subhrakanti Sahu of M. Rampur NUPS from M. Rampur block were also awarded. From Narla block, Sarmita Sethi of Narla PSHS, Rakesh Sahu of Rupra Road HS, Basanta Kumar Samantaray of Ghantmal Bighneswar HS, Prasant Kumar Sahoo of PSHS, Narla, Santoshananda Nayak of DNUB, Tulapada, and Anil Prasad Sahu of Rupra Road UPS were honoured. From Thuamul Rampur block, Kishore Routray of Karlapat HS and Simanchal Pujhari of Dalguma PS received the awards.

Additionally, two CRCCs were recognised for their efforts in strengthening grassroots education. Bijaya Suna from Bhimkela cluster under Bhawanipatna subdivision and Manoj Meher from Bargaon cluster under Dharmagarh subdivision were felicitated.
ADEO Pabitra Mohan Sahu gave a warm welcome address, while teacher Dileswar Rana anchored the event. ADEO Hemsagar Mahananda delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was successfully organised under the guidance of Panchasakha Shiksha Setu Sangathan’s District Coordinator Prasanta Nanda and Higher Secondary Education Coordinator Birendra Acharya, with support from Tankadhar Sahu, Jitendra Mund, Rupasingh Rout, Dusmanta Sekhar Padhi, Bapangi Pradhan, Sudhir Dhangadamajhi, Tilottama Naik, and the staff of the District Education Office and Samagra Shiksha District Project Office.
