Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): Dr Priyanka Mohanty, a second-year postgraduate from Kalahandi, has brought immense pride to her land by securing the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 52nd Annual National Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSMCON 2025), held at SKICC, Srinagar, from 11-13 April 2025.
The daughter of Dr Pallishree Patnaik, Head of the Odia Department, Maa Manikeswari University, and Dr Hrushikesh Mohanty, Principal of Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE), Cuttack, Dr Priyanka’s achievement has been hailed as a triumph for Kalahandi.
Representing the Department of Community Medicine at KIMS, Dr Priyanka captivated the audience with her presentation titled “Satisfaction among Caregivers Towards Vaccination Services among Under-Five Children of an Urban Immunization Clinic in Bhubaneswar, Odisha – Root Cause Analysis using FishBone Diagram.”
Her work, guided by Prof. (Dr.) Ipsita Debata, Dr. Prem Sagar Panda, and Prof. (Dr.) Sonali Kar, Head of the Department, earned her the prestigious award in the Free Oral Paper Category.
The conference, hosted by Government Medical College, Srinagar, under the banner of IAPSM, centred on the theme “Integrative Approaches for Comprehensive Care in One-Health.” It attracted nearly 600 public health experts from across India, making Dr Priyanka’s accomplishment even more remarkable.
