Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): The 30th Kalahandi District Level Bharat Scouts and Guides Camporee 2024-25 was officially inaugurated at Panchayat High School, Medinipur, marking the start of an inspiring event for the district’s youth. The opening ceremony, chaired by DEO cum Bharat Scouts and Guides District Chief Commissioner Radhakanta Chhatri, welcomed a distinguished array of guests who offered their encouragement and guidance.
Chief guest Zilla Parishad Chairman Pushpendra Singhdeo led the proceedings, joined by notable attendees including ADM Tanmay Darwan, Bharat Scouts and Guides District President Shantanu Kumar Behera, National Trainer Trinath Thakur, Bhawanipatna BEO and District Camporee Convener Achari Sabar, Golamunda BEO Nepal Chandra Bag, IPE cum Bharat Scouts and Guides Secretary Rupsingh Rout, and the host school’s Headmaster and Organising Secretary Sushil Kumar Biswal. Their presence underscored the event’s significance in shaping young minds.
The Camporee brings together participants from 124 schools across Kalahandi, with 277 Boy Scouts and 65 Guides taking part. Over the coming days, these young participants will engage in a programme designed to instil discipline, character building, leadership qualities, creativity, and self-confidence—core values of the Scouts and Guides movement.
Teacher Prabhat Kumar Rath introduced the guests and coordinated the programme, while Teacher Bishnu Charan Goud delivered the vote of thanks. The event’s seamless execution was supported by dedicated volunteers, including Sanatan Sahu, Dhirendra Panda, Manoranjana Sahu, Pradeep Negi, Prakash Mishra, Kamalakantha Rana, Raju Sahu, Gorekh Chandra Sahu, and Dharmendra Pradhan, whose efforts ensured a strong start to the Camporee.
This significant gathering promises to foster leadership, teamwork, and community spirit among its participants. With robust backing from local leaders and educators, the Camporee is poised to leave a lasting impact on Kalahandi’s youth. As the event progresses, further activities will continue to build on its legacy of nurturing talent and resilience in the district’s next generation.
