Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): Dharamgarh block-level “Pravesh Utsav and Khadichuan” event was held at Rankabahal Project Upper Primary School, chaired by BEO Pankajini Majhi. The programme aimed to raise awareness and strengthen pre-school and primary education in the region.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dharamgarh MLA Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi alongside prominent attendees including Dharamgarh Sub-Collector Dhiman Chakma, BDO Sadashiv Nayak, Dharamgarh NAC Vice-Chairperson Manisha Mishra, ABEO-cum-BRCC Arupananda Bhoi, ABEO Biswajit Behera, Headmaster Vivekananda Sagar, and SMC Chairperson Reena Patel. The gathering focused on informing the School Management Committee, parents, guardians, and community members about the age criteria for enrolment in Bal Vatika and Class 1.
New students were traditionally welcomed with flowers and tilak by the guests and teachers, accompanied by a kirtan group, followed by the Khadichhuan ritual. Educational kits were distributed to the children.
The event featured cultural performances by students, adding vibrancy to the occasion. Guests also visited literacy, numeracy, and creativity stations at the school. Dharamgarh MLA Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi inaugurated an awareness ratha by waving a green flag. This rally will travel across every village in the block, spreading the message of Pravesh Utsav and Khadichhuan to sensitise the community.
Senior teacher Sushesh Kumar Meher anchored the programme, with support from all CRCCs and the teachers. The event concluded with ABEO Bishwajit Behera delivering the vote of thanks.
