Worker’s Death Sparks Protest at Vedanta Alumina in Lanjigarh

Kalahandi | YNN (Nilesh Kumar Nag): In a tragic incident, a worker at Vedanta has passed away. The deceased, identified as Chudamani Sahu (30), also known as Amit, was from Burat village under the jurisdiction of the Narla police station in Kalahandi district. Chudamani was employed by one of Vedanta’s associate companies.

Reports indicate that Chudamani’s health had been deteriorating rapidly due to an unhealthy working environment. He succumbed to his medical conditions at Bissamcuttack Missionary Hospital on Friday at 7 PM.

Following his death, Chudamani’s family and the local community gathered in front of the Vedanta gate, demanding compensation. They staged a protest with the deceased’s body, seeking justice and accountability for the working conditions that allegedly led to his untimely demise.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the health and safety standards in the workplace, prompting calls for a thorough investigation and appropriate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
