Kalahandi (YNN): As the general elections approach, the political climate in Odisha’s Kalahandi district is reaching a boiling point. The Lok Sabha constituency, known for its decisive voters and dynamic politics, is witnessing a fierce battle among the major political parties.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Malvika Keshari Deo, hoping to capitalize on the legacy of her husband, the former MP Arka Keshari Deo. The BJP is keen on retaining the seat, emphasizing the development agenda spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the other hand, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has entrusted Lambodar Nial with the responsibility of swaying the electorate. Nial has been proactive, conducting extensive tours across all seven assembly segments within the constituency, engaging with party workers and the public alike.
The Indian National Congress has introduced Draupadi Majhi into the fray, underlining their commitment to change and grassroots-level governance. The party’s morale is high, especially after the appointment of Bhakta Charan Das as the Chairman of the PCC campaign committee.
It’s worth noting that while Shri Nial of the BJD is ahead in the campaign, both the BJP and Congress candidates are not far behind, making the electoral battle in Kalahandi even more intriguing. With all three candidates – from the BJP, BJD, and Congress – actively participating in conventions, roadshows, and public meetings, the electoral battle in Kalahandi is shaping up to be a captivating one. Each party is presenting its vision for the future, with the BJD highlighting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s welfare schemes and state development trends, while the Congress is reaching out with a promise of 25 guarantees for change.
The question on everyone’s mind is: Who will win the Kalahandi bet this time? With the BJP defending its previous victory, and the BJD and Congress strategizing to claim the seat, the answer will only be revealed once the election results are declared.
