31st Annual Function of Devgiri Sanskrutik Anusthan

Narla (Lingraj Mishra): The 31st annual function of Devgiri Sanskrutik Anusthan, the torchbearer of Kalahandi’s art, culture, literature, and tradition, along with the statewide Kumarswami Mahotsav-2023, is set to commence on Saturday. The three-day grand ceremony at Budhipadar village under Narla Block aims to rejuvenate endangered folk songs, dances, and culture of Kalahandi and Odisha, promoting and showcasing ancient traditions and cultural life to the public.

The distinguished attendees include SC and ST Development and Law Minister Jagannath Saraka, Planning and Coordination Minister Rajendra Dholkia, Tourism and Culture Minister Ashwini Patra, Narla MLA Bhupinder Singh, Junagarh MLA Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra, Kalahandi ZP Chairman Pushpendra Singh Deo, Special Planning Authority Chairman Shibaji Majhi, Narla Block Chairperson Manorama Mohanty, Vice-chairman Durga Prasad Mohanty, Social worker Sarada Prasanna Swain, Rohit Bhoi, women’s leader Pramila Padhan, young writer Sushil Kumar Bag, Rayagada’s leading social worker Purnachandra Goud, Nuapada Zilla Parishad member Muralidhar Bhoi and several eminent personalities.

On this occasion, the prominent cultural organizer Jayanta Behera will be honored with the Devgiri Samman. The internationally renowned karate player Kedar Kabat will receive the Devgiri Yuva Samman, while the eminent writer Dr. Pallishree Pattanaik will be awarded the Devgiri Sahitya Samman. Devgiri Shiksha Samman will be presented to the distinguished educationist Er. Ajaya Panda, and the Devgiri Samajaseva Samman will be bestowed upon Dandapat Yuva Seva Sangathan. Youth Journalist Jagadish Naik will be honored with the Devgiri Sambadikata Samman, and Youth Journalist Nilesh Kumar Nag will receive the Devgiri Narada Samman.

Youth Fine Artist Kshirsindhu Bhoi (Shyam) will be awarded the Devgiri Kala Samman, and Distinguished Teacher Leader Prafulla Kumar Thakur will be recognized with the Devgiri Sangathan Samman. Youth Soldier Umesh Goud will be honored with the Devgiri Deshseva Samman, and Successful Farmer Er. Manmath Sahu will receive the Devgiri Krushi Samman. Senior Art Researcher Medinidhar Jani will be presented with the Devgiri Kala Samman, and Eminent Ghumura Guru Bharat Bhushan Chalan will be recognized with the Devgiri Lokanrutya Samman.

Journalists Bikash Sarangi, Uttam Kumar Dash, Khageswar Kumar, Nilakantha Behera, and Santosh Tula will be conferred with the Devgiri Barta Samman, while educationists Jayahari Putel, Bijaya Kumar Dash, and Kshitish Chandra Majhi will be awarded the Devgiri Guru Samman. Additionally, senior social worker Managobinda Mohanty, retired teacher Narasingha Barik, senior artist Rohit Biswal, youth poet Jadabendra Saha, and Arjun Gopal will receive special felicitations. The artists of the telefilm ‘Senrra,’ prepared by Devgiri Sanskrutik Anustha and broadcasted on Doordarshan, will also be honored.
