Kalahandi (Lingaraj Mishra): The ‘IMAS Asian Karate Championship-2023’ competition has been organized in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Tapan Gaud of Budhipadar village under Narla block of Kalahandi district has won the silver medal by standing second. Competitors from Nepal, Sri Lanka and other countries participated in the said competition organized by the Indian Institute of Martial Arts. In an interesting match, Tapan missed out on becoming the champion and finished second. 25-year-old Tapan Goud, son of Sanju Goud and late Bhuri Goud of Budhipadar village became the ‘Martial Arts Got Talent World Champion’ in 2022 and has now brought laurels to Odisha by securing the second position in the IMAS Asian Karate Championship. He gives the credit for this to his parents, Budhipdar village and Seth Haresh Bhai M. Dhokia. Tapan is currently training students as a Karate Coach in several educational institutions including Innovative International College, Rajkot, MSB School, Rajkot. Tapan, an ambitious and hardworking young man from the rural area of Kalahandi district, has carved a niche for himself in Gujarat. Studied from All Gujarat Martial Arts Academy, Tapan Goud has been promoted by many institutions. The success of Tapan has spread a wave of happiness in Kalahandi district including his village Budhipadar.
