KCR Launches National Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi Is Now Bharat Rashtra Samithi

Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao forayed into national politics as he launched Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) on Wednesday.

The decision to rechristen TRS to BRS has been taken in the the party general body meeting at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.

It was earlier reported that KCR is keen on preparing a blueprint for the welfare schemes for farmers. The party will largely focus on the upliftment of Dalit communities and promoting communal harmony, said sources.

The Telangana CM has earlier announced that free electricity will be provided to farmers across the country if the non-BJP coalition comes to power. Claiming that power has been underuntilised by the NDA government at the Centre, KCR says he has plans for utilising 4.04 lakh MW power properly.

JDS leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, JDS minister Revanna, several JDS party MLAs and senior leaders arrived in Hyderabad to attend the general body meeting on Wednesday.
