Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Thursday caught an Assistant Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) of Khurda while taking a bribe of Rs.50,000 from the representative of an authorised Rice Mill.
The accused ACSO, Bishnu Charan Parida, was apprehended by the Vigilance sleuths while taking undue advantage of Rs 50,000 from the representative of an authorised Rice Mill for issuance of the final verification report of KMS 2021-2022 and for conducting the inspection of the modernization work of the Rice Mill.
The entire bribe amount of Rs. 50,000 has been recovered from accused ACSO Parida and seized. Following trap, house search is going on at his government residential quarter at 2RB/3, Road-5 unit-Bhoinagar, Bhubaneswar from DA angle, the Vigilance said.
In this connection Vigilance Cell PS (Case No. 7/2022) U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation in progress against ACSO Parida, the Vigilance added.
