Bhubaneswar: After a gap of two years, the Biju Janata Dal ( BJD) is all set to begin its ‘Jan Sampark Padyatra’ from October 2 marking Gandhi Jayanti.
Party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today issued a letter directing party leaders including MLAs, MPs, observeros and district-block level functionaries to start preparation for the mega event at the earliest.
Patnaik also directed the party leaders to take mass oath to work selflessly for the people on the last day of the padyatra.
The one-month long mass outreach programme will be arranged in district to ward level across the State. During the padyatra, the party will observe Gandhi Jayanti, Sastri Jayanti, Gopabandhu Jayanti, Jayprakash Jayanti, Patnaik stated through the letter.
The leaders will ensure mass attendance in the event, he added.
The programme will be halted on festivals. The leaders and party workers have been directed to make people aware about the government’s welfare activities. The CM also ordered to widen social activities through various works like blood donation, plantation and other activities.
