Kalahandi (Sumit Kumar Agrawal): Vaidyaraj Sajjan Agarwal, the founder of Swargdwar Seva Sangathan, who has created a special identity across the state by cremating the dead bodies of the Corona dead, will be given this year’s honorable ‘Devgiri Seva Samman’. He will be honored on the occasion of the state-level Kumaraswami Mahotsav and the 30th anniversary celebrations of Devgiri Sanskrutik Anusthan (DSA), a leading social and cultural organization of the state, which will be organized from December 2 to December 4 at Budhipadar in Narla block of Kalahandi district. Baidyaraj Sajjan Agarwal, son of late social worker Kisanlal Agarwal and Gomati Devi Agarwal of Rupra Road, has been providing free treatment and medicines to patients for the last 15 years. According to ancient Ayurvedic treatment methods, he treats many diseases like sickle cell, cancer, kidney, liver, fits, stomach related diseases, nervous weakness etc. Thousands of patients are getting benefitted by Mr. Agarwal’s Ayurvedic treatment. Surprisingly, he never took money from any patient. Along with this, he has set a unique example for the society by cremating the dead bodies of corona patients.
Similarly, renowned artist, dancer, musician and dance and drama instructor Bhubaneswar Bag (Bun) will be conferred with the ‘Devgiri Lok Kala Samman’ for this year. Mr. Bag is the son of Murali Mohan Bag and Mithila Bag of Titilagarh in Balangir district. Presently working in Indian Railways, Mr. Bag is working to promote unique folk traditions like Bajnia, Rasarkeli and Dhap etc. He has performed in many festivals of Odisha including Guwahati, Haridwar, Punjab, Chennai, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur, Adra, Sealdah, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhusabal, Ujjain, Bilaspur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Kaziranga. He was the cultural secretary while studying at DAV College, Titilagarh. Since that time Mr. Bag has been devoted to the revival and propagation of the art-culture of Balangir and western Odisha. DSA’s President Sanjay Kumar Dhangdamajhi and General Secretary Sunil Kumar Dhangdamajhi said that other honors will be announced soon.
