Kolkata: Sahitya Akademi organized a Kathasandhi programme with noted Bengali writer Sri Manohar Mouli Biswas at Sahitya Akademi auditorium, Kolkata.
In the programme, the welcome address was delivered by Sri Kshetrabasi Naik, Officer-in-charge, Sahitya Akademi, Kolkata. He introduced Sri Manohar Mouli Biswas to the audience and highlighted the importance of organizing such Kathasandhi programmes with noted writers as a means to broadening the connection between the writers and the readership. In the programme, Sri Manohar Mouli Biswas read out from his short story entitled “Chandipurer Lal Kankra” (The red crabs of Chandipur).
Besides, he spoke about his life and his long preoccupation with cause of the dalit and downtrodden mass. He traced the origin of the caste system in India and its effects on the life of the common people. He presented important anecdotes in this regards as well. At the end, the programme concluded a brief interactive session.
