Skoda Launches Kushaq NSR For Rs 15.09 Lakh

Skoda has introduced yet another variant of the Skoda Kushaq SUV in India. The new variant is called the Skoda Kushaq NSR and it has been priced at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The ‘NSR’ in the name ‘Skoda Kushaq NSR’ stands for ‘Non-Sunroof’ and this latest variant is based on the Style trim level of the SUV. As the name suggests, this new variant does not sport a sunroof. Compared to the ‘Style’ variant of the Skoda Kushaq, the new NSR variant is around Rs 20,000 cheaper. Some sources indicate that the new variant was introduced to tackle the ongoing semiconductor shortage. For the difference of Rs 20,000, the Skoda Kushaq NSR not only misses the sunroof from the ‘Style’ variant, but it also misses out few features such as auto-dimming rear view mirrors, rain-sensing wipers and the SUV also misses out on the larger spare wheel from the ‘Style’ variant of the SUV. However, the rest of the features in the new Skoda Kushaq NSR remain identical to the ‘Style’ variant of the SUV and continues to sport other features such as a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, auto climate control, rear AC vents, cooled glove box, push-button start/stop, wireless charger, cruise control, rear parking camera, auto headlamps, ambient lighting and much more. Despite the aggressive pricing on the Skoda Kushaq, the SUV still comes with safety systems such as multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill start assist, ISOFIX points, Brake Disc Wiping, and a few more. The Skoda Kushaq comes with two engine options. The base unit is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder. TSI petrol engine with 115bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque, whereas the next option is a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine with 150bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque. Though both the engines will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options, the 1.0 TSI features a 6-speed automatic gearbox and the 1.5 TSI comes with a more advanced 7-speed DCT gearbox. At present, the Skoda Kushaq SUV prices start from Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base ‘Active’ variant and goes all the way up to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-end ‘Style’ variant with 1.5 TSI engine, 7-speed DCT gearbox and 6 airbags. Apart from that, the newly added variant of the Skoda Kushaq will help attract more customers to its showroom and overall improve the market share of the automaker in India.

When launched, the Skoda Kushaq NSR will compete against other SUVs such as Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun and a few more. Thanks to the launch of Skoda Kushaq NSR in India, the Czech car manufacturer has once again gained traction in the Indian automotive market. With the introduction of Skoda Kushaq NSR, Skoda will offer more flexibility and easier access to aspiring customers.
