Bhawanipatna, YNN (Lingaraj Mishra): Pramila Padhan has been reappointed as the Women’s President of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for Narla Block. The appointment was declared during the 29th Foundation Day celebrations of the Narla Assembly Constituency-level BJD, which took place at Kadhel in Madanpur-Rampur Block. Narla MLA Manorama Mohanty felicitated the newly reappointed president on stage, presenting her with a bouquet and a gift. Upon taking up the role, Mrs Padhan expressed her gratitude to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, Narla MLA Manorama Mohanty, district BJD president Pradeep Dishari, Narla Block chairman Durgaprasad Mohanty, Narla Assembly Constituency president Romanchak Sahu, block president Nilamani Sahu, and other party leaders. Mrs Padhan, a resident of Mursing village in Narla Block, has established herself as a prominent women leader and social activist across Narla Block and Kalahandi district. She previously served effectively as sarpanch and, in her earlier tenure as block women’s BJD president, played a key role in mobilising women and promoting awareness campaigns. Known for her strong organisational skills, she has contributed significantly to strengthening the party’s structure at the grassroots level. Sources within the BJD indicate that these achievements prompted her reappointment to the post.
