Kalahandi, YNN (Nilesh Kumar Nag): A grand celebration of Maharshi Parashar Jayanti and Nuakhai Bhetghat was held by the Mund Parashar Family, Bhawanipatna Branch, at the premises of Braja Bihar Shishu Vidya Mandir in Bhawanipatna. The event was chaired by the Branch President, Malaya Kumar Mund. Around 300 members and their families from the Bhawanipatna branch participated in the programme.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome, where all attendees were greeted with flowers and chandan. The programme began with senior members performing the puja and worship of Maharshi Parashar. Organised under the coordination of poet Parameswar Mund and Snehalata Sarangi, the event featured a detailed discussion on the life and contributions of Maharshi Parashar. Parameswar Mund recited a brief biography of Maharshi Parashar during the session.
On this occasion, renowned writer Snehalata Shadangi (Mund) was felicitated by former District President Dr. Ashok Mund on behalf of the Mund Parashar Family for her remarkable work in translating ‘Shrimad Bhagavad Gita’ into Odia. All members also introduced themselves during the event.
Later, a vibrant cultural programme was organised. Among the women, competitions like hulhuli, sankha blowing, and musical chairs were held. For children, music and dance competitions were conducted. The winners were awarded certificates and trophies.
The event was successfully organised with the support of members, including Branch Secretary Sudhir Ranjan Mund, Vice-President Sanat Mund, District President Santosh Kumar Mund, District Vice-President Dinabandhu Mund, District Convener Jitendra Mund, Joint Secretary Sudhaldev Mund, Samarendra Mund, Chittaranjan Mund, and Bunty Mund. The programme concluded with Branch Convener Jagannath Mund delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks.
