Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): Samagra Shiksha Kalahandi has successfully conducted the district-level Rani Laxmibai Self-Defence Training Camp. The training was organised in two phases of three days each under the supervision of the District Education Officer and District Project Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Mr Sushant Kumar Chopdar, in coordination with Gender Coordinator Ms Lipika Aparajita.
The camp, held at the premises of Bapuji Government Upper Primary School, Bhawanipatna, saw training provided by Resource Persons Ms Mamata Sabar, Ms Rosy Naik, Ms Nalini Mundchhina, Ms Nagma Rani Pradhan, and Ms Dharitri Pradhan. A total of 100 female teachers from 13 blocks across the district participated in the training.
The objective of the programme is to empower girls by equipping them with self-defence skills. According to the coordinator, the trained teachers will, in turn, provide self-defence training to adolescent girl students throughout the district. Participants will learn techniques from various martial arts such as Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, etc.
