Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): The Kalahandi District Level Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani 2024-25 took place at the Police High School campus in Bhawanipatna. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the District Education Officer, Mr Sushant Kumar Chopdar, with the Chief Development Officer of the Zilla Parishad, Mr Dayamaya Padhi, as the chief guest. Additional District Education Officer Mr Pabitra Mohan Sahu, District Science Supervisor Mr Dushmanta Shekhar Padhi, and Police High School Headmaster Mr Rabindra Patnaik attended as guests of honour.
A total of 91 students from 13 blocks across the district showcased their projects on seven sub-themes related to this year’s overarching theme, ‘Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future’. Lecturers Mr Imran Ahmed Khan, Mr Trinath Bishoyi, Miss Harshita Purohit, and Mr Abhishek Patnaik served as judges for the exhibition. Additionally, Mr Banchanidhi Panda performed a captivating science magic show.
The valedictory function was chaired by District Education Officer Mr Sushant Kumar Chopdar. Zilla Parishad Chairman Mr Pushpendra Singhdeo attended as the chief guest, while Narla Senior Block Education Officer Mr Tapimani Jani, Junagarh High School Headmaster Mr Nepal Chandra Bag, BM High School Headmaster Mr Shasthi Jhankar, District Science Supervisor Mr Dushmanta Shekhar Padhi, and Police High School Headmaster Mr Rabindra Patnaik were present as guests of honour.
The students of Police High School presented a welcome song and a cultural programme. Among the seven projects adjudged best, the following students were selected for the state level and awarded: Aman Prasad Sahu from Risida High School, Ashutosh Meher from Manikeswari High School, Subhalakshmi Sahu from Mashanimunda OAV, Om Mahanand from Police High School, Pratyush Naik from Chanchrapada OAV, Abhinav Biswal from Madanpur OAV, and Naveen Sahu from Tikrapada High School.
Teachers Mr Prakash Mishra, Miss Barsharani Tripathy, and Miss Saswati Mohapatra skilfully moderated the stage proceedings.
