Shiksha Saptah Commences in Kalahandi: Fostering Student-Teacher Collaboration and Innovation

Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): In celebration of the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is organizing “Shiksha Saptah” from July 22 to 28, 2024. This week-long celebration provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the transformative reforms introduced by NEP 2020 and reaffirm our commitment to advancing education across the nation.

The Shiksha Saptah has begun with great enthusiasm in Kalahandi district. On the first day, the Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) Day was celebrated in every government school of the district. The day highlighted local resources and their importance and use in the classroom. District Education Officer Sushant Kumar Chopdar expressed that this week aims to encourage collaboration and innovation among students, teachers, educators, policymakers, and all stakeholders, inspiring children to learn new things and realize the importance of education.

Each day of the week will be observed separately as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Education and Odisha School Education Program Authority (OSEPA). Today, District Education Officer Mr. Chopdar and Additional District Education Officer Pabitra Mohan Sahu visited various schools to supervise the Shiksha Saptah activities, coordinated by pedagogy coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Kalahandi, Shraddhanjali Dash.

Shiksha Saptah aims to foster collaboration and innovation among learners, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders in the education sector. It provides a platform to share best practices, discuss challenges, and chart a path forward towards realizing the vision outlined in NEP 2020 at grassroots levels. 

The daily themes include TLM (Teaching-Learning Material) Day on July 22, 2024, which encourages teachers to showcase TLM based on local context and use it in the teaching-learning process. FLN Day on July 23, 2024, aims to generate greater awareness among all stakeholders for successful implementation of NIPUN/FLN Mission. Sports Day on July 24, 2024, will organize sports competitions to highlight the significance of sports and fitness among learners. Cultural Day on July 25, 2024, is dedicated to promoting unity and diversity among students. Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day on July 26, 2024, will focus on skill education for building a competent and competitive workforce and technology in education. Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE/School Nutrition Day on July 27, 2024, will see the establishment of new Eco clubs in schools and a plantation drive under the #Plant4Mother initiative to strengthen the bond between students and Mother Earth. Lastly, Community Involvement Day on July 28, 2024, will foster collaboration with local communities, SMCs, NTA/PTA, and Sahodayas, and celebrate birthdays and special occasions involving the community as a whole.
