Kalahandi: The political atmosphere in Kalahandi is buzzing due to the ongoing elections. The BJD demonstrated its power on Saturday in Narla, a well-known assembly constituency in the state. Lambodar Nial, the BJD’s MP candidate for the Kalahandi Lok Sabha Constituency, and Manorama Mohanty, the candidate for the Narla assembly, conducted a grand road show amidst thousands of supporters. Manorama visited the Chief Minister at Naveen Nivas and then proceeded to Urladani, a border area of the Narla Constituency. There, both BJD candidates paid their respects to Shahid Rando Majhi, receiving a warm welcome from party activists, workers, and the public. Lambodar and Manorama conducted a massive road show at Madanpur Rampur, Narla, Burat, Chhatikuda Chowk, Mandel, and Rupra Road, visiting various temples of Gods and Goddesses. During the 75 km long procession, the local people greeted Lambodar Nial, the BJD’s MP candidate for Kalahandi, and Manorama Mohanty, the candidate for the Narla Assembly. Durga Prasad Mohanty, the Vice President of Narla Block, District General Secretary and the President of Dadpur Seva Samabaya Samiti Tikelal Sahu, along with youth, women, student activists, and party workers participated. In the meantime, Malvika Keshari Deo, the BJP candidate, Draupadi Majhi, the Congress candidate, and Lambodar Nial, the BJD candidate, have entered the fray for the Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat. Manorama Mohanty, the BJD candidate, Bhakta Charan Das, the Congress candidate, Aniruddha Padhan, the BJP candidate, and candidates from other parties will contest in the Narla assembly constituency. Currently, candidates from the BJP, BJD, and Congress are actively campaigning. Political pundits have opined that the general election will witness a fierce battle in Kalahandi.
