Bhawanipatna: Priyanka Das, the dynamic Gandhi Fellow supported by the Piramal Foundation, is leading a revolutionary educational transformation in Labanipur village, situated under Taljaring GP in the Junagarh Block of Kalahandi district.
Upon delving into Labanipur’s educational landscape, Priyanka uncovered a stark reality – students grappling with a lack of basic knowledge compounded by financial constraints. Undeterred by the challenges, she initiated ‘Asantakalira Vidyalaya,’ a vibrant classroom where English, Math, and General Knowledge come alive through dance, singing, and drawing. Over 25 students are now joyfully embracing the journey of learning.
Through door-to-door campaigns under Samagra Shiksha, Priyanka witnessed 20 individuals embarking on their literacy journey, empowered to write their own names. Each participant not only received a pen but gained a symbol of newfound identity.
Extending her relentless spirit to the community, Priyanka plastered posters and initiated school campaigns to raise awareness about pre-matric scholarships. Her personal engagements with parents fueled the drive for educational opportunities.
Breaking barriers, Priyanka orchestrated online classes in collaboration with Adore India, enhancing high school students’ proficiency in English and Math. Bridging the digital divide, she is forging pathways for success.
