Championing the Future: Marking International Girl Child Day with Samagra Siksha Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: The District-level International Girl Child Day was observed at the Government Girls’ High School campus in Bhawanipatna on October 11. The event was inaugurated by Additional District Education Officer Temlal Dubey and featured drawing, debate, and essay competitions involving students from all 13 blocks of the district. The primary focus of the event was addressing the challenges faced by girls, empowering them, and safeguarding their human rights.

District Education Officer Sushant Kumar Chopdar graced the occasion as the chief guest, with Bhawanipatna Block Education Officer Sunanda Panda as the guest of honor, and District Gender Education Coordinator Lipika Aparajita presiding. Students from Chahka High School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Tulapada, and Behera delivered a powerful dance performance highlighting women’s empowerment. Prizes were awarded to the talented contestants, with Sudhir Kumar Dhangadamajhi, CRCC, Sarian as the stage moderator, and senior teacher Sanjeev Kumar Padhi overseeing the prize distribution.

The event received valuable support from District Higher Secondary School Coordinator Birendra Acharya, Borda High School Headmaster Prakash Nishank, Accountant Sanjit Sahu, and dedicated school staff. Notably, International Girl Child Day was celebrated across all government and government-aided schools in the district, featuring awareness rally and a range of engaging programmes.
