Rayagada/ Kashipur (Siba Narayan Goud/ Alaram Bhatra): In line with its commitment towards nurturing sports and promoting sportsman spirit, Utkal Alumina, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group, is organizing Utkal Premier League (UPL) season – 3 from 8th April to 19th April 2023, at its Oshapada Stadium Tikiri, Rayagada.
The tournament was kick started with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President of Utkal Alumina, Mr. Khanta Majhi, Kashipur Block Chairman, and Mr. Debidatta Mallick, IIC Doraguda. Mr. Manas Khara, under 19 players of Indian Cricket Team was invited to the occasion as special guest.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Beig narrated that, “Utkal Alumina is committed towards promoting sports and fitness in and around its operational area. The Utkal Premier League (UPL) is a platform which provides scope to our sports talents to showcase their sportsman spirit and gives an opportunity to the cricket lovers to witness a high standard cricket at this remote location. “I believe that this league would certainly foster the value of true sportsmanship among everyone” as mentioned by Mr. Beig.
The inaugural event was followed by an extravaganza cultural nights where renowned artists across Odisha showcased their talent. The performances were wellreceived by the audience, and the artists were felicitated for their contribution.
