Kalahandi (Lingraj Mishra): Shri Santosh Kumar Kar, Science Teacher, Jaya Durga High School, Narla Road, has been awarded the State Teacher Award (Previously known as Governor’s Award) for the year 2017. On the occasion of Utkal Divas, 57 teachers of the state including Mr. Kar have been given this honour. Mr. Kar is working for teaching children, science writing, preparing science related visual aids and disseminating the perspective of science in the society by making low cost or no cost tools to overcome the complexities of scientific research. Earlier, he has received National Paryavaran Mitra Teacher Award from Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, Academic Board Member of Vigyan Manthan Program organized by NCERT, Program Coordinator at India International Science Festival, Best Science Communicator by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Platinum Science Club Award.
