Kataka: Keonjhar Miners and Sambalpur Warriors will lock horns in the final of the Bharat Masala Odisha T20 League—CM Trophy at the Barabati Stadium in Kataka on Wednesday. Keonjhar Miners finished at the top of the points table to secure a direct place in the title clash, while Sambalpur Warriors booked their spot after defeating Bhubaneswar Tigers by nine runs in the Qualifier.
With both teams now preparing for the all-important final, Keonjhar captain Subhranshu Senapati said his side would approach the title clash with the same mindset as any other game, while also acknowledging the confidence gained from their recent results.
“We are looking at the final as another game, but we know it is an important one. We have prepared well throughout the tournament and the team has been in good form. We have also had some good results recently, so there is confidence within the group. We just want to stick to our plans and give our best on the day.”
Sambalpur Warriors skipper Gaurav Choudhary, meanwhile, said his team’s hard-fought win over Bhubaneswar had given them confidence ahead of the final. He also stressed the importance of carrying forward the same fighting spirit.
“It was a good win against Bhubaneswar, especially because we had to fight hard after losing a few early wickets. The team showed a lot of character to come back and defend the total. That win has given us confidence, and now we have to carry the same approach into the final. We know Keonjhar are a strong side, but we will focus on our plans and try to execute them well.”
The final is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Barabati Stadium.
