● Popularity of Bindu Mahanand clearly reflected
Golamunda (Sushant Kumar Dalei): Meena Mahanand has been elected unopposed in the by-election for the post of Golamunda Block Kuhura Panchayat Samiti Member. Mrs. Mahanand is the wife of the current block chairman Bindu Mahanand. The referendum was held here after the death of Madhuri Mahanand, the former Samiti Member of Kuhura Panchayat. Even after a year of three-tire Panchayat election, Bindu Mahanand’s popularity is reflected clearly. After the announcement of the election, Meena Mahanand decided to contest in Kuhura Panchayat and the opposition group also nominated a candidate. However, Meena Mahanand has been elected unopposed by breaking the cycle of the opposition. Just a year into politics, Bindu has managed to convince the opposition like a seasoned politician. Earlier, Mrs. Mahananda contested from Manjhari Panchayat in three-tire Panchayat election and got 1800 votes and was defeated by only 80 votes from the former block president Tuleswar Naik. Mrs. Mahananda expressed that she will follow her husband’s footsteps and give priority to public service in the coming days.
