Banki: A huge python has been rescued from the premises of a temple near Jatamundia area here on Sunday morning.
The matter came to the fore after some locals spotted the reptile roaming inside the premises of Maa Archandi temple which is situated on the northern side of the Chandka-Dampada sanctuary and immediately alerted Lalit Mohan Panda, coordinator of the Banki Snake Helpline, about the snake.
On being informed, Panda reached the spot and rescued the snake.
Later, the snake was released to its natural habitat-the forest.
