Bhadrak: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments worth over Rs 50 lakh from a jewellery shop at Betada market in Basudevpur area of Bhadrak district today.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the afternoon when the owner of the shop, Tarakanta Sahu, after opening his shop went to the workshop. Meanwhile, two bike-borne miscreants reached the shop and decamped the bag with around 1 kg of gold ornaments.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway, said sources.
